My parents just received the same exact letter asking for the same ammount… Not being sure of what to suggest, I looked it up and found this.. Thank you all for the warnings, I’m going to make them aware that this is a scam and should get legal advice from someone.
Unfortunately, I was a victim and am in the process of recovering my funds of $189.00. Report these fraudulent letters to the Better Business Bureau, Attorney General of California, and the Department of Cosumer Affairs.

I sent them $189.00 in October, so far no reply. Who should I report them to? Thanks
It’s sad to say, but I got scamed from this company. Assuming this was a legitimate company and without researching it, I sent in the $189 in early January of this year. I followed up 90 days later and they stated they were sending me a refund. As of this day, I’m still waiting.
I’m better off waiting for Santa.
I think this company is just offering a simple service.
I honestly dont see how this would be a scam. The letter
is self explanatory and lets the reader know that it is not
a government agency and all they are doing is filling out the
form for you and sending it in. Also, the letter states that
they’ll represent you in case of an appeal. All you have to
do is READ…! No body is forcing any one to use this company
for their services.
You might want to read what “Victor” wrote in these comments.
I am so glad there is a way to check for these scams through the internet. Same letter same scam. Don’t do it!
I received the letter on October 30, 2009. Same as sample above with same amount due. Will report it.
10/30/09 I received the same letter today asking for a $189.00 processing fee. Letter/envelope looks official. I am a senior citizen but fortuneatly comfortable with the Internet. I fear many aren’t and won’t know, or know how to, check the validity of this scam. I too will report them to the Los Angles County Tax Collectors office, P.O. Box 54018, Los Angeles, CA 90054-0018
Received copy of the letter shown above….same processing fee, some figures here were are blacked out so can not compare. Will notifice some government office.
I just got my letter today and after seeing that the Attorney General’s office in Arizona filed a complaint against them I also notified the State of California’s Department of Consumer Affairs office about it and maybe they can do the same thing. The owner of the company lives in Simi Valley and has his “corporate office” in Granada Hills. I hope anyone who gets one of these lettes just puts in in the trash or lets someone in our state government know that these guys are out there trying to rip you and I off.
